2025 Preview: Rutgers

The Scarlet Knights will have a youthful roster in 2025. Rutgers graduated marquee names such as Morgan Smith, Kyleigh Sand and Katie Wingert as well as seven others. This team looks quite the opposite with only five upperclassmen and a freshman class of 11. With such a young group, head coach Kristen Butler emphasized the importance of growing throughout the season. "What we talk about is come the first of the year, we don't have to be a perfect team. We need to be a good, competitive team," Butler said. "Come conference (play) we've got to become a great team and then postseason we have to be excellent. That's been our focus is that we need to be a good team now. Then build on that with milestones and things we need to build upon.
