Georgia has added a new puppy to the house. Four-star infielder Kyla Hamby announced she is joining the Bulldogs’ 2027 recruiting class.

“I chose Georgia because I felt like it was exactly where the Lord had led me to be,” Hamby said. “I instantly fell in love with the coaching staff, and it feels like family. You couldn’t ask for better people who care so much about their athletes. They truly care about them as people and athletes. Their campus, facilities, and all the resources they have are top-notch. I have always wanted to be a Bulldog ever since watching them as a little girl. I look forward to competing at the SEC level.”

Hamby as a young Georgia fan

Hamby plays at Alexandra Central in Taylorsville, North Carolina, the same high school as former Georgia All-American and current pitching coach Chelsea Wilkinson. She currently plays for SE Rising Sherrill, which was previously a part of the Mojo organization.

Hamby has an elite-level arm; her overhand velocity is her strongest weapon and brings a lot of options from the left side of the plate. She is a multi-tool athlete who can run, hit for power, and keep the defense guessing.
