The field for the 2025 Women’s College World Series is set. What teams are the favorites coming in after Super Regionals? Let’s look at how the eight teams rank heading into Thursday.

1. Oklahoma

This reloaded Sooners squad isn’t unbeatable by any means, but while other teams had their faults in Super Regionals, Oklahoma looked stronger. Sam Landry shut out a good Alabama lineup, her third quality effort against the Tide this season. The Sooners’ offense exploded against Alabama’s pitching duo that gave them fits back in April. Ella Parker, Kasidi Pickering and Gabbie Garcia are all swinging the bat really well heading into the Women’s College World Series.

2. Texas Tech

If NiJaree Canady is going to pitch as efficiently as she did against Florida State, Texas Tech has a real chance to win the whole thing. Canady has always had incredible strikeout numbers, but if she wants to carry the Red Raiders to a title, the fewer pitches the better. Regardless of pitch count, Texas Tech has to keep playing defense and scoring runs at a decent level to support their superstar.

3. Tennessee

Karlyn Pickens has found another level when it’s mattered most this season, and that’s the reason Tennessee finds itself so high. The Lady Vols’ offense can go dormant at times and the defense has its head-scratching moments, but they also find really good moments as they did in the Knoxville Super Regional finale. Pickens can carry the Lady Vols to a national title and it starts with a rematch against Oklahoma.

4. Florida

The Gators certainly had their struggles with runners in scoring position against Georgia. Although, the Florida offense can still put runs up in a hurry. Taylor Shumaker is approaching history for the program’s single-season home run and RBI record. The big thing for the Gators is that Keagan Rothrock arguably looked the best she’s looked since her return from injury.

5. Texas

The Texas offense carried them past Clemson despite a few pitching and defensive woes. The top of the order remains a handful for any pitching staff. However, Teagan Kavan looked more like her All-American self on Friday and Saturday. Leighann Goode was, truthfully, the star of the weekend. Texas moved her back to shortstop for the second game of the Super and it helped stabilize the defense. She also had seven hits against Clemson.

6. UCLA

The Bruins are a hard time to get a read on after the Super Regionals. UCLA was pretty lifeless for 13 innings in Columbia until the seventh-inning rally in the second game that sparked a bid to Oklahoma City. All three pitchers, Taylor Tinsley, Kaitlyn Terry and Addisen Fisher can go toe-to-toe with anybody, but each has had a tough stretch this year. The offense can explode at any time, but typically Jordan Woolery or Megan Grant has to light the fire.

7. Oregon

Oregon’s offense has been rolling this postseason. Speedster Kai Luschar has 13 hits this postseason. Knowing that All-American Rylee McCoy will be good to go for the Women’s College World Series is a huge bonus after her scary injury against Stanford. The most promising piece for the Ducks is Lyndsey Grein, who had her best outing in the last few weeks in the Super Regional clincher over Liberty.

8. Ole Miss

The Rebels made the run to the Women’s College World Series as the lone unseeded team. The December addition of Aliyah Binford has been the biggest move of the off-season for Ole Miss. The two-way has been great in the circle and at the plate. However, for Ole Miss to get past NiJaree Canady and Texas Tech to make a deep run, the big bats need to keep coming through and the pitching staff has to be tougher.
