The bullpen in College Station just got better with the NCAA Division I current active career saves leader. Left-handed pitcher Taylor Pannell has committed to Texas A&M.

Pannell, who has one year left of eligibility, has primarily been a closer in her career. In 2024, she matched the NCAA single-season saves record with 15. Pannell has made 84 career appearances, with all but seven coming from the bullpen. However, the Lee’s Summit, Mo. native did make seven starts this past season, throwing three complete games and a career-high 73.2 innings, which was more than her combined freshman and sophomore inning total.

“I chose A&M because of the environment and the coaching staff,” Pannell said. “The culture that program has is amazing and I want to be a part of something really special that’s going to be happening at A&M this year. No place I’d rather be to end my career, and I’m excited to get to work.”

According to our friends at 64Analytics, Pannell had a 3.98 SIERA (Skill-Interactive Earned Run Average: A statistic that attempts to measure the underlying skill of a pitcher), which was in the same range as Florida’s Keagan Rothrock and UCF’s Isabella Vega.
