Alabama basketball adds exhibition vs. Wake Forest in Birmingham

Alabama basketball has scheduled a charity exhibition to open its season against Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 18. The game will take place at Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham. Greg Garrison of AL.com was first to report the game’s scheduling.
The game will sell 2,000 tickets to the public, and all proceeds will go to Children’s of Alabama hospital. Bama in Boutwell is the official name of the game, and it’s sponsored by Nike and Hibbett.
It’s the first of two preseason charity exhibitions that Alabama will play before the 2024-25 season begins. The second will take place 10 days later at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, where Alabama will take on Memphis.
This is the second straight year Alabama and Wake Forest will play in a preseason charity exhibition. Last preseason, playing at Wake Forest’s home arena, Alabama blew an early 20-plus-point lead and lost the exhibition game 88-80.
