Alabama basketball finalizing 3-year series with South Florida

Alabama basketball is finalizing a 3-year series to play South Florida, with the first game being played on Dec. 17 in Coleman Coliseum, per Rocco Miller.
The series will return to the Yuengling Center on South Florida’s campus in Tampa in December 2026, and the series will conclude back in Tuscaloosa in December of 2027.
The Bulls are led by newly-hired head coach Bryan Hodgson, who was an assistant under Alabama head coach Nate Oats at both Buffalo and Alabama. He was a member of the Tide’s coaching staff for two SEC championship teams in 2021 and 2023, and spent the last two years as the head coach at Arkansas State.

It will be the second former assistant coach Alabama will face this season, joining Austin Claunch and UTSA on Dec. 7.
Oats has once again put together one of the most difficult non-conference schedules in the country. Alabama has marquee games slated against the likes of Purdue, St. John’s, Arizona and Illinois among others, while also participating in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving week.
The Tide’s season will begin on Monday, Nov. 3 against North Dakota.
