Alabama Basketball Preview: Top newcomers, most anticipated matchups and more
The Alabama men’s basketball team will tip off the 2025-26 season in four days. The Crimson Tide has played two preseason exhibitions, defeating Florida State in Birmingham and Furman in Greenville, S.C., to get ready for another difficult non-conference and SEC schedule.
Alabama is ranked No. 15 in the preseason AP Poll and was picked to finish fourth in the SEC by the media. The Tide welcomed back five players from last year’s Elite Eight team, and Nate Oats, in his seventh year leading the program, added four transfers and four freshmen to his roster. Miami transfer Jalil Bethea is sidelined because of a preseason foot injury.
