Alabama center Collins Onyejiaka out 'indefinitely' due to medical condition

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama basketball’s frontcourt will be thin against No. 2 Purdue.
Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats opened his Wednesday press conference by providing the latest updates on forward Keitenn Bristow, center Collins Onyejiaka and guard Davion Hannah.
“Collins, due to a medical condition, will be out indefinitely,” Oats said. “Keitenn is progressing. He did not practice today. He’s starting to do some basketball activity. He’s highly doubtful for tomorrow. And then, Davion did practice today and looked alright, so Davion is highly likely to go tomorrow, provided there’s no setbacks after today’s practice.
“Everybody else should be good to go.”
Bristow played in both of Alabama’s preseason exhibitions against Florida State and Furman, but he rolled his ankle in practice leading up to the season opener against North Dakota. He’s missed the last two games, including the road victory over No. 5-ranked St. John’s.
Onyejiaka and Hannah played in the first two games as reserves, with Hannah leaving the St. John’s game after a hard fall on the court. The freshman did, however, return to the game.

Onyejiaka was the last addition to Alabama’s 2025-26 roster, committing to the Tide on June 20. A 4-star recruit from The Newman School in Boston, Onyejiaka played in both wins as the third center to see the floor behind older teammates Aiden Sherrell and Noah Williamson.
With Onyejiaka and Bristow both expected to be out against Purdue, Alabama’s frontcourt will be down to just Sherrell, Williamson and forwards Taylor Bol Bowen and London Jemison.
No. 8 Alabama will play host to No. 2-ranked Purdue at Coleman Coliseum on Thursday, Nov. 13. The marquee matchup is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. CT and will air live on ESPN2.
