Alabama flips 2022 4-star RB Jamarion Miller from Texas

Alabama has landed commitment No. 20 for its 2022 recruiting class on Thanksgiving Day after Jamarion Miller flipped from the Texas Longhorns to the Crimson Tide.
The Tyler (Texas) Legacy runner had been pledged to Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns since late June, but with where things have been trending for both programs, Alabama likely feels like the better fit.
According to the industry-generated On3 Consensus rankings for 2022, Miller checks in as the nation’s No. 89 overall player, No.7 running back and No. 18 player from the state of Texas.
Of the now 20 commitments, nine are rated among the top 100 prospects. Six of those, including Miller, come on the offensive side of the football. That talent, along with 11 other commits, has the Crimson Tide sitting at No. 2 in the team rankings, only trailing the Georgia Bulldogs.

The addition of Miller cannot be overstated.
If you want proof, look no further than Alabama’s running back depth at the moment. With injuries to Jase McClellan, Roydell Williams and five-star freshman Camar Wheaton, the Crimson Tide are thin at the position.
Yes, five-star Emmanuel Henderson is already committed, but the coaching staff clearly wants to take multiple running backs in the 2022 class. At one time, Le’veon Moss was the second runner, but he later chose to decommit and is now pledged to Texas A&M.
Now, Alabama has yet another dynamic offensive weapon to add to its future arsenal.
Here’s how the “Personal Life” tab reads on Miller’s On3 player profile:
Jamarion Miller is the all-time leading rusher in the history of Tyler Legacy, a school formerly known as Tyler Lee. He is considered the top running back recruit in the Lone Star State as a senior in part because of his combination of toughness, vision and speed. Miller is the younger brother of Damion Miller, a wide receiver who initially signed with Texas in 2017 but never overcame academic obstacles to enroll in Austin. Miller also competes on the track where he finished second in the district 100-meter race with a time of 10.71 seconds. Miller plans on majoring in medicine in college. He lists watching Netflix as his hobby. His mother is Shamekia Miller.
You can never have too many running backs.
Give credit for Miller’s commitment to current Alabama cornerbacks coach Jay Valai, who has acted as the 5-foot-10, 195-pound ball-carrier’s main recruiter throughout this entire process.
