Alabama-Florida State Preview: Tide health update | Expectations for Ty Simpson

Alabama will kick off its 2025 season in two days. The Crimson Tide will travel to Tallahassee, Florida, to take on the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday, August 30 (2:30 p.m. on ABC).

There are plenty of questions surrounding both teams before the start of the season. Alabama will be without at least two starters, including defensive tackle Tim Keenan, who suffered a lower-body injury earlier this week in practice. Meanwhile, Florida State has several new faces, both on the field as players and on the sideline as coaches. But there is some familiarity, too, as two former Crimson Tide players are listed as starters on the Noles’ depth chart.

Alabama brings back a lot of experience from last season’s team, but it will be breaking in a new starting quarterback and offensive coordinator to begin Year 2 of Kalen DeBoer’s tenure.
