The Mackey Award and Rimington Trophy revealed their 2025 preseason watch lists on Friday, continuing two weeks of watch list unveilings, and one Alabama player made each listing.

Crimson Tide offensive lineman Parker Brailsford was one of 40 players named to the watch list for the 2025 Rimington Trophy, which is annually presented to college football’s top center.

Brailsford started all 13 games on Alabama’s 2024 schedule and did not give up a single sack in 394 snaps of pass protection, according to Pro Football Focus. He also recorded 63 knockdown blocks, per UA’s own stats. Brailsford earned second-team All-America honors from the Football Writers Association of America following his first season with the Crimson Tide and chose to return for his redshirt junior year before the 2024 campaign even concluded.

Alabama tight end Josh Cuevas was named to the John Mackey Award’s preseason watch list. The Mackey has been annually presented to college football’s top tight end since 2000.

Cuevas arrived on campus last spring and moved his way into the Tide’s No. 3 tight end role, contributing on offense and special teams in all 13 games. He finished second behind CJ Dippre in the tight end group and fourth on the entire Tide offense with 16 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown during Alabama’s 2024 season. He caught multiple passes in five games, including three of the final four, and hauled in a touchdown pass at Wisconsin.

Three former Alabama centers have won the Rimington Trophy, including Barrett Jones (2012), Ryan Kelly (2015) and Landon Dickerson (2020). No Alabama player has won the Mackey.
