No. 16 Alabama is expected to get a key piece back for its pivotal game at Florida tonight.

Crimson Tide guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr., who has missed the last four games due to a head injury, is set to play against the Gators, per the Crimson Tide Sports Network pregame show.

“That’s the plan unless something goes haywire in warmups,” Alabama head coach Nate Oats told CTSN. “He was able to practice yesterday, and nothing bad came out of it. Shoot, we plan on having him.”

Wrightsell suffered the head injury two weeks ago in practice and has not played in contests against Florida (at home), Kentucky, Ole Miss and Tennessee. He went through warmups and was on the bench for Alabama’s loss to the Vols this past Saturday, but he ultimately did not play. Making the trip to Gainesville, Wrightsell makes his long-awaited return.

Wrightsell has played in 25 of the Crimson Tide’s games this season, his first with the team after transferring from Cal State Fullerton, and he has been in the starting lineup for each of his last seven games. Wrightsell is averaging 9.0 points per game on the year but averaged 18.5 points during his last two outings and shot 10-of-17 from behind the 3-point line.

Wrightsell is shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 44.5 percent from three and 100 percent from the free-throw line this year. He is currently fifth in the SEC in three-point percentage. Wrightsell has scored double-digit points in eight games, and the Tide has won all eight.

Tonight’s game between Alabama and Florida is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
