The Alabama men’s basketball team will be without its longest-tenured player in Las Vegas.

Redshirt senior guard Latrell Wrightsell will miss the entire Players Era Festival due to a right leg injury. The Crimson Tide is being cautious with Wrightsell, according to TNT’s broadcast.

“Not only is he going to be out tonight, but Wrightsell is going to be out the entire Players Era tournament because he’s got a leg injury,” said TNT’s Jared Greenberg. “That’s the bad news, but the good news is it’s not a serious injury. The trainers are just being extra cautious for him.”

Wrightsell, in his third year at Alabama, is averaging 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 37% from the field. Wrightsell scored 17 points in the Crimson Tide’s road win over then-No. 5 St. John’s and has shot 6-of-18 from three-point range this season.

In this same tournament a year ago, Wrightsell suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. He was granted a medical redshirt, allowing him to return to Tuscaloosa for a final season.

The Crimson Tide will also be without guard Jalil Bethea and center Collins Onyejiaka “for the foreseeable future,” Nate Oats told the Crimson Tide Sports Network before the game. Bethea recovers from a foot injury, while Onyejiaka is out indefinitely with an undisclosed issue.

Alabama takes on No. 12 Gonzaga tonight in Las Vegas. It will turn around and face UNLV on Tuesday night (11 p.m. CT on truTV). The Tide’s third opponent/date is yet to be determined.
