TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer kicked off ULM week by providing the latest on several of the Crimson Tide’s injured players. He started by sharing updates on a trio of starters who sustained injuries during Alabama’s season opener at Florida State.

Jah-Marien Latham had a lower-body injury,” DeBoer said on Monday. “We’ll see how he progresses. He’ll be day-to-day throughout this week.

“And then Isaiah Horton, really proud of the way he fought through a lower-body injury that he had, but just kept fighting through Saturday. Was certainly limited, still feeling that a little bit, but he just continued to compete. He’s someone that it doesn’t surprise me that’s what we saw. We expect him to be full-go by the end of the week. We’ll build up as he can tolerate here early on.”

Latham started the Week 1 game at the Wolf linebacker position, while Horton was on the field at receiver for the first offensive snap of the 2025 season. Both players spent time in the injury tent during the 31-17 loss. Horton was able to return to the game, but Latham was not.

DeBoer revealed after Saturday’s season opener that star receiver Ryan Williams sustained a concussion in the fourth quarter. The Alabama head coach gave a brief update on Williams.

“Ryan will go through the concussion protocol throughout the week,” DeBoer said. “He’ll have a day-to-day situation.”

The rest of Monday’s injury updates were on players who did not play against the Seminoles.

Right guard Jaeden Roberts (concussion) traveled to Tallahassee and dressed out but did not play in the loss. Geno VanDeMark started in his place and played every snap of the game. Prior to Game 1, Alabama announced Roberts was cleared to play and would be available.

“He’s been out there on the practice field for some time now,” DeBoer said of Roberts. “But just for everyone to feel good and taking full-go reps. He traveled. He could have gone in the game if we needed to, but didn’t have him play out there.”

Finally, DeBoer shared the latest on Tim Keenan (ankle) and Jam Miller (collarbone). Keenan did not travel with the team, while Miller watched from the sideline in street clothes. DeBoer has told ESPN that he thinks Keenan will be back by the Wisconsin game on September 13, while Miller is expected to make his 2025 debut against Georgia on September 26.

“Tim Keenan will be week-to-week just kind of moving forward, but he’ll still be out this week,” DeBoer said. “And Jam Miller is still week-to-week, coming along real nicely with his progression. So optimistic there, here in the short future.”

Alabama returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 6, when it hosts ULM at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
