Alabama LB Justin Okoronkwo enters NCAA transfer portal

Alabama linebacker Justin Okoronkwo has entered the NCAA transfer portal, BamaOnLine has learned. Okoronkwo is the 23rd Crimson Tide player to transfer in the winter window.
Matt Zenitz of 247Sports was first to report the news.
Okoronkwo, a true freshman, played in all 13 of Alabama’s games this season, primarily playing on special teams and as a defensive reserve. The rookie from Germany recorded 14 tackles and half of a tackle for loss in his first – and only – year with the Crimson Tide.

Okoronkwo joined the Alabama program last offseason from Munich, where he grew up playing soccer and competing in gymnastics. The 6-foot-3, 228-pound freshman committed to Alabama out of Therese von Bayern School over Maryland, Michigan and Penn State.
He is the third inside linebacker to transfer this week, joining Jeremiah Alexander and Sterling Dixon. The Tide received good news with Deontae Lawson and Justin Jefferson coming back for fifth seasons, but that likely led to younger players in the room moving on.
