Alabama Pregame Show: Fourth-ranked Tide facing interim-led LSU
Alabama enters the final month of the regular season as the nation’s No. 4-ranked team.
The initial College Football Playoff rankings were released earlier this week, and the Crimson Tide (7-1, 5-0 SEC) is in fourth place with four more games to go in November. Alabama was the highest-ranked team with one loss and has looked legit after winning seven straight.
Next up for the Tide is an unranked LSU team that fired head coach Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan after its third SEC loss of the season. The Tigers will be led by interim head coach Frank Wilson and interim play-caller Alex Atkins. Not only could Alabama face new wrinkles from LSU, but the Tigers still have plenty of talent on their 2025 roster.

Alabama will look to continue its impressive performances coming out of a bye week. The Tide is 3-0 under head coach Kalen DeBoer after an open date, and that includes last year’s 42-13 beatdown of LSU in Baton Rouge. UA has played well since its Week 1 loss, winning four in a row against ranked teams but needs to keep the pedal down during November.
