No. 4 Alabama defeated LSU, 20-9, last weekend in Tuscaloosa to advance to 8-1 (6-0 SEC) on the season. The Crimson Tide defense showed up to limit the Tigers to three field goals on four trips to the red zone, but UA’s offense couldn’t run the ball and missed some deep shots.

Winners of eight in a row, the Tide will next face one of the toughest tests on its 2025 schedule, as the No. 11-ranked Oklahoma Sooners travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 15 (2:30 p.m. CT on ABC). OU defeated Alabama, 24-3, last year to keep the Tide out of the SEC title game and ultimately the College Football Playoff, so there is a revenge factor here.

But these are two different teams. The Sooners are better offensively with transfer quarterback John Mateer leading the troops, and their defense is arguably the best in the conference. On the other side, Alabama is led by Ty Simpson, who continues to make plenty of plays and smart decisions. UA’s defense is also starting to hit its stride down the season’s final stretch.

Before Oklahoma makes its first road trip to Tuscaloosa since 2003, BamaOnLine staff writers Charlie Potter and Blake Byler discuss the latest news and notes surrounding the Crimson Tide and preview the Tide-Sooners matchup — as well as discuss some Crimson Tide hoops.

The Alabama-related topics discussed by the guys include:

– Final thoughts on the LSU game

– Another revenge game for Alabama

– Sooners have a stout defense

– John Mateer and the OU offense

– Alabama wins if…

– Huge basketball game on deck
