Alabama Pregame Show: Tide tops Tennessee, travels to struggling South Carolina
Alabama enters its final game in the month of October, as the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide will travel to face unranked South Carolina on Saturday, October 25, at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
Alabama (6-1, 4-0 SEC) has won six consecutive games, including four straight against top-25 teams. The Tide is the first team in SEC history to accomplish that with no open weeks. But its next game, ahead of its second and final bye week, is against the 3-4 Gamecocks.
This is the kind of game that gave Alabama trouble last year. Three of its four losses occurred against unranked teams away from Tuscaloosa. This is another test for the football team, but coach Kalen DeBoer and the players have said all the right things during the week.
South Carolina hasn’t looked great, though, especially on offense under first-year coordinator and former Alabama head coach Mike Shula. The Gamecocks rank at or near the bottom of the SEC in every statistical category ahead of the matchup. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers is still a dangerous player, however, and the Tide will need to contain him on Saturday.

The Gamecocks have the SEC’s fourth-best passing defense (186.1 ypg) and are capable of applying pressure on the opposing quarterback.
