Alabama star WR Ryan Williams signs NIL deal with Nike

Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams has signed an NIL deal with Nike, the brand announced on Friday, July 18. Williams is just the second college football player to join the Nike family, per On3’s Pete Nakos. Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders signed with the brand last year.
“Since I can remember, Nike has always been the best fit on and off the field,” Williams said in a press release. “Family has always been a huge part of who I am. When I had the opportunity to join the Nike family, I knew I had to just do it.”
A former 5-star recruit, Williams joined the Crimson Tide after reclassifying to the 2024 class and made an immediate impact as a true freshman during the 2024 college football season.

Williams caught 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie. He finished tied for the fourth-most receiving touchdowns in the SEC and was also eighth in the conference in yards per catch (18.02) and 10th in receiving yards per game (66.5). Williams made plenty of big plays for Alabama, including a highlight catch and run against No. 2 Georgia, and he was tied for the SEC lead in receiving plays of 40-plus yards (7) in his debut season.
Back for his sophomore season, Williams will once again be one of the Crimson Tide’s top wide receivers in what will be a stacked position room in 2025. The Mobile native will look to take the next step as he enters Year 2 in Tuscaloosa, and he has worked to do just that, having spent his offseason working out with Heisman Trophy winner and Super Bowl champ DeVonta Smith. The second-year wideout will also take on more of a leadership role for UA.
