Alabama stays red hot on the recruiting trail, lands 4-star WR Cole Adams

The Alabama football program continues to ride its impressive hot streak out on the recruiting trail, as four-star wide receiver Cole Adams committed on Wednesday. With this latest pledge, the Crimson Tide have now added five new members to its 2023 class over the last nine days.

Adams, who’s currently a standout pass-catcher for Owasso High School in Oklahoma, is Alabama’s first wide receiver commitment during the current cycle.

Per the On3 Consensus rankings for 2023, Adams is a four-star prospect who rates as the No. 246 player nationally, No. 34 wide receiver and No. 5 player from the state of Oklahoma. There had recently been a push from the Sooners to sign the talented pass-catcher, but Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide ultimately won out.

This decision won’t stop Alabama from pursuing other top receivers such as JUCO prospect Malik Benson. Instead, the Crimson Tide coaching staff will look to piece together another top group of pass-catchers, similar to the last two recruiting hauls.

Coming into Wednesday, Alabama had the No. 3 recruiting class (No. 1 in the SEC). And that was with only eight total commitments. Of course, the number now sits at nine after Wednesday’s news. Five of those pledges have come over the last nine days.

Alabama might not be done with this hot streak either. Key targets such as Benson (July 5), Peter Woods (July 8), and Raul Aguirre (July 16) are all scheduled to announce their commitments over the next few weeks, so stay tuned.
