Alabama walk-on OL Graham Roten awarded scholarship

An Alabama walk-on received a full scholarship on Friday, August 15.
Offensive lineman Graham Roten was awarded a scholarship from 68 Ventures, the school’s NIL collective shared via social media. Roten, a fifth-year senior from Nashville, Tennessee, was presented the scholarship by coach Kalen DeBoer and 68 Ventures founder Nathan Cox.
“I know this has been on Nathan’s heart here for quite a while,” DeBoer said. “We’ve been talking about this, swapping emails. He’s put a lot into what he wanted this scholarship, we’re going to call it, this 68 Ventures support for one of you walk-ons, including everything that a scholarship player would have – room and board, tuition, books, fees, all of it.
“So this year, the scholarship is going to go to Graham Roten.”
Roten’s teammates erupted when they heard the news in Alabama’s team meeting on Friday.
A 6-foot-3, 295-pound redshirt senior, Roten has spent the last four years at Alabama and has played in three total games. He saw his first-ever collegiate action in 2023, entering the game against Chattanooga on the final drive. Last fall, Roten played in two games (Western Kentucky and Mercer) and was a scout-team player of the week leading up to the 2024 opener.
Roten played his high school ball at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville.
68 Ventures is a development and investment company headquartered in Daphne, Alabama.
