COLUMBIA, Mo. — Alabama wide receiver Derek Meadows left Saturday’s Missouri game after taking a big hit. Meadows, a true freshman, stayed down on the turf and received attention.
Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson looked Meadows’ way on a deep shot downfield, but the wide receiver absorbed a big hit. Missouri’s Marvin Burks was flagged and ejected for targeting.

Meadows was evaluated by as many as 10 members of the Crimson Tide’s training staff before being rolled over to his back and eventually lifted to his feet. Meadows was able to walk off the field with help from UA staffers and headed straight to the visiting locker room.
*** Update: Meadows is back on the Alabama sideline but in street clothes.
Including today, the 6-foot-5 Meadows has played in four games this season.
With Meadows’ early exit, Alabama is down to six available wide receivers in Columbia. Jalen Hale and Jaylen Mbakwe were ruled out on the Crimson Tide’s weekly availability report.
