The Walter Camp Award revealed its 2025 preseason watch list on Monday morning, continuing two weeks of watch list unveilings, and one of Alabama’s brightest young stars made the cut.

Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams was one of 46 players named to the watch list for the Walter Camp Player of the Year, the nation’s fourth-oldest individual college football accolade.

Williams, a sophomore, started every game as a true freshman during Alabama’s 2024 season. He caught 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the Crimson Tide in yards and touchdown catches last year as a rookie. Williams also rushed for 48 yards and two more scores on just four attempts, giving him 10 total touchdowns in his first season.

Williams caught multiple passes in every game of his freshman campaign and recorded 100 receiving yards twice. His best performance was in Alabama’s biggest game of the season, a 177-yard outing against the Georgia Bulldogs. Williams scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter, which was a highlight reel-leading 75-yard catch and run.

Three Alabama players have won the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award in program history since 2015 — Derrick Henry in 2015, Tua Tagovailoa in 2018 and DeVonta Smith in 2020.
