Alabama's Simpson, Proctor named midseason All-Americans by Associated Press

The Associated Press unveiled its midseason All-America team on Wednesday, and Alabama had two players — both on the offensive side of the ball — recognized at the midway point.
Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson and left tackle Kadyn Proctor were both named first-team All-Americans by the outlet after the first seven weeks of the 2025 football season.
Ohio State and Texas A&M led all schools with three players apiece on the first team. Alabama was one of four teams with two first-team selections, along with Miami, Texas Tech and USC. The Big Ten had nine first-team honorees, which was two more than the SEC (7).
The Associated Press is one of five outlets used to determine consensus All-American status at the end of each college football season, along with Sporting News, Football Writers Association of America, American Football Coaches Association and Walter Camp Foundation.
