College GameDay heading to Tuscaloosa for Alabama-Vanderbilt game

College GameDay is heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, next week.
ESPN’s college football pregame show announced on Sunday morning that its Week 6 stop will be Alabama’s campus. The Crimson Tide will play host to the Vanderbilt Commodores at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, October 4 (2:30 p.m. CT on ABC).
The decision comes as a bit of a surprise, but given Florida State’s loss on Friday (the ‘Noles host unbeaten Miami next week) and Alabama’s win over No. 5 Georgia, the pregame show elected to attend a top-20 matchup between the Crimson Tide and Commodores.
This will mark the second year in a row that Alabama and Vanderbilt will meet, and last year’s game was a stunner, as the ‘Dores knocked off the Tide in Nashville, 40-35, just one week after UA claimed a huge win over Georgia. In 2025, Alabama will be looking for revenge.

Next week’s matchup will be the first since 1937 that Alabama and Vanderbilt are both ranked. The Tide rolls into Week 6 at 3-1 (1-0 SEC), while the Commodores are unbeaten (5-0, 1-0).
College GameDay’s October 4 trip to Tuscaloosa will be Alabama’s 61st overall appearance on the ESPN pregame show. The Tide is 39-21 in the last 60 appearances. GameDay traveled to the UA campus last season for the matchup with Georgia, which UA won 41-34.
Next week, GameDay’s broadcast will begin at 8 a.m. CT on ESPN and run through 11 a.m.
