Deontae Lawson on Florida State QB quote: 'All disrespect will be addressed'

Before head coach Kalen DeBoer even spoke behind the lectern to kick off Day 3 of SEC Media Days, one of Alabama’s players was asked about recent comments from an opponent.
Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos made headlines when he spoke to On3’s Pete Nakos earlier this summer and provided some bulletin board material for the Crimson Tide.
“I’m excited, man,” Castellanos told Nakos. “People, I don’t know if they know, but you go back and watch every first game that I played in, we always start fast.
“I dreamed of moments like this. I dreamed of playing against Alabama. They don’t have Nick Saban to save them. I just don’t see them stopping me.”
On Wednesday, while on the set of SEC This Morning, linebacker Deontae Lawson was asked about what Castellanos said, and the veteran defender shared his thoughts on the quote.

“It definitely ignites us a little bit,” Lawson said. “We can’t really think too much on that. It’s gonna come down to what we do and how we prepare that week.
“I think all disrespect will be addressed accordingly.”
That was a theme for the Alabama defensive players in Atlanta, as defensive tackle Tim Keenan shared a similar, but more succinct, answer when asked about the viral Castellanos comment.
“The disrespect will be addressed,” Keenan said.
The second season of Kalen DeBoer’s tenure will start at Florida State on Saturday, August 30. The 2025 season opener is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT and air live on ABC.
