Jordan Rodgers will call Alabama’s 2025 home opener against ULM from the press box inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. He’ll join Tom Hart and Cole Cubelic on the SEC Network’s call.

Talking to the Crimson Tide coaches before the September 6 non-conference game, Rodgers expects Alabama to use different players as it looks to bounce back from a Week 1 loss.

“There will be some new pieces you’re gonna see,” Rodgers told The Paul Finebaum Show on Friday. “The offensive line, all five starters from last week, didn’t rotate out of the game. You’re going to see a few more guys rotate into that lineup to help out. You’re gonna see a few more guys rotate into positions on the outside and other spots. There’s going to be some new faces.

“What I took away from that call with Kalen DeBoer is competition is going to breed and bring out the best in this team. They’re going to be more competitive, the intensity is going to be there. The passion is going to be ramped up.”

Alabama’s starting offensive line played all 75 snaps of the 31-17 loss to Florida State. The first offensive line allowed 14 pressures, including six from preseason All-American left tackle Kadyn Proctor. The Crimson Tide should welcome back right guard Jaeden Roberts (concussion) this week, but based on Rodgers’ comments, other O-linemen could see the field.

The same is expected to happen at other positions, according to Rodgers, after Alabama had issues in a number of areas in Week 1 — from missed tackles to dropped passes to penalties and simply a lack of effort. But despite the disappointing start to the 2025 campaign, the Tide coaching staff remains confident in its team heading into the first home game.

“I think the perception is not the reality at least behind closed doors,” Rodgers said. “… They are a group that still feels really confident, that feels like maybe the intensity wasn’t what it should have been Week 1, but it’s a correctable issue.”

Alabama’s home opener against ULM is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, at 6:45 p.m. CT.
