Final availability report for Alabama's road game at South Carolina

Alabama Football issued its final availability report before its game at South Carolina.

Six players will miss the Crimson Tide’s Week 9 game against the Gamecocks– linebackers Qua Russaw (foot), Jah-Marien Latham (neck) and Cayden Jones (ankle), defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman (knee), wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks and tight end Danny Lewis Jr. 

On Brooks, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer told CTSN: “Got dinged up in the game last week. Didn’t turn the corner like we probably thought he was going to as the week went on.”

Offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark, who was listed as questionable on Wednesday and then probable on Thursday, was listed as a game-time decision and will be evaluated in pregame.

The No. 4 Crimson Tide (6-1, 4-0 SEC) will face South Carolina (3-4, 1-4) later this afternoon on the road at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

In football, prior to a Saturday football game, an institution must issue the Initial Report on Wednesday by 7 p.m. CT and update the Availability Report once per day on Thursday and Friday (after the conclusion of practice and before 7 p.m.). These updated reports will be referred to as the “Thursday Update” and “Friday Update.”

On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time. On the Game Day Update, the only permissible designation statuses are:

• Available – Will dress for the game and be available to play

• Game Time Decision – Coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the athlete in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game

• Out – Not dressing or available for the game
