Final Availability Report: Ryan Williams' status revealed for LSU game

Alabama Football issued its final availability report before its Week 11 matchup with LSU.

Wide receiver Ryan Williams is no longer listed and will play against the Tigers. Williams, the Crimson Tide’s second-leading receiver, had been probable due to an undisclosed injury.

Tight end Danny Lewis, who had been listed as questionable, is a game-time decision.

“We’ll see how things go through this week,” said Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer on Monday. “The bye week was certainly good. He wasn’t able to play the previous week. I’m hopeful that he’ll be ready to go. Expect him to be on the football field practicing with us more this week than he has in previous weeks.”

Five players were ruled out on Wednesday’s initial report, including linebackers Qua Russaw (foot), Jah-Marien Latham (neck) and Cayden Jones (ankle) and defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman (knee). Then, Alabama safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is indefinitely suspended.

The No. 4 Crimson Tide (7-1, 5-0 SEC) will face unranked LSU (5-3, 2-4) later this evening at home at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:44 p.m. CT (ABC).

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

In football, prior to a Saturday football game, an institution must issue the Initial Report on Wednesday by 7 p.m. CT and update the Availability Report once per day on Thursday and Friday (after the conclusion of practice and before 7 p.m.). These updated reports will be referred to as the “Thursday Update” and “Friday Update.”

On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time. On the Game Day Update, the only permissible designation statuses are:

• Available – Will dress for the game and be available to play

• Game Time Decision – Coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the athlete in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game

• Out – Not dressing or available for the game
