After over a month in the transfer portal, Alabama defensive lineman Stephon Wynn is heading to Nebraska to join Scott Frost’s program. The news comes directly from Wynn, who shared his next college destination via Instagram on Sunday evening.

Wynn will be reuniting with Crimson Tide teammate Kaine Williams, who announced his decision to join the Huskers one week ago today. Those two, along with freshman Dayne Shor, are the only three players to enter the transfer portal following spring practice.

Of course, we are still waiting to hear of Shor’s next stop.

Wynn will be a fifth-year player for Nebraska after spending the last four seasons in Tuscaloosa. During that time, he played in 21 games with 13 total tackles. The 6-foot-4, 307-pound defensive lineman entered the portal on April 20 after only playing 68 total snaps last season.

When Wynn announced his decision to leave Alabama, he made sure to show appreciation for his time in the program.

“First off, I would like to thank Coach Saban and all of the staff associated with the University of Alabama for an amazing four years,” Wynn said in his statement. “You all have made a lot of my childhood dreams come true, and I am very grateful for the time that I have spent here. My family and I feel that it is in my best interest to enter my name into the transfer portal and finish my college career elsewhere. Thank you Roll Tide nation for all the love and support over the years. I will forever be an alumnus of the University of Alabama.”

Even with Wynn now at Nebraska, Alabama still has 14 scholarship defensive linemen on the roster.
