Four-star LB commits to Alabama
Alabama’s football program is on a roll on the recruiting trail.
A day after landing elite athlete Darrell “Duke” Johnson, the Crimson Tide earned a commitment from West Coast linebacker Abduall Sanders on Thursday. Sanders committed to Bama following a multi-day visit to the school.
“Other than the program, it’s Alabama. Nothing gets better than that,” Sanders previously said of why he’s interested in Bama. “Talking with the academic staff, they’re very open to helping players. Making your schedule around your school time, practice. Guys going to the combine, what guys want to major in… they’re very determined to help you out and see what fits in your life, so you’re not stressed out with all this other stuff.”
Some of the offers on the table for Sanders were Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
A four-star prospect, Sanders earned an offer from the Tide back on Jan. 29. He followed that up with a visit to Tuscaloosa just a few days later for the program’s Feb. 3 junior day. His most recent visit to the school this week went from Monday until Thursday.

The Tide made a strong impression on him following his first visit of the year.
“It went great,” Sanders told BOL in early February. “Felt love from the coaching staff, all the new coaches I met. Hung out with some of the guys. It was a fun trip. [What stood out] was really just the facilities. First time going there, the facilities stood out. The coaching, their goals for the season and future years stood out to me.”
Sanders also admires head coach Kalen DeBoer and what he brings to the table.
“I love Coach DeBoer,” Sanders said. “He’s great to talk to. He’s open to talking to you about anything and helping you. Other than that, I feel like he’s going to do the same thing he’s done everywhere else he’s been at.
“People are saying, ‘Oh, he’s not ready for the SEC. Pac-12 offense. Blah, blah, blah.’ But I feel like he can adjust to a different conference. He knows what he’s doing. I feel like he’s ready. Has the right coaching staff and the right athletes to do it, so that’s all he needs.”
