No. 15 Alabama opened its season with a win over North Dakota on Monday night, but now the real fun starts. The Crimson Tide starts a run of four straight games against ranked teams this Saturday, first up being No. 5 St. John’s.

The game will be played at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the first game of a 2-year series between the two programs. The return game is expected to be played in Birmingham during the 2026-27 season.

The Johnnies are in their third year under head coach Rick Pitino, one of the all-time great college basketball coaches. Last season he brought St. John’s to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big East, receiving a 2-seed before falling in the second round to Arkansas.

This year, St. John’s comes into the season with legitimate Final Four hopes after bringing in one of the best transfer classes in the country. That class included players such as Ian Jackson (North Carolina), Bryce Hopkins (Providence), Joson Sanon (Arizona State) and Dillon Mitchell (Cincinnati). It breezed to a win in the opener over Quinnipiac, 108-74, on Monday night.

Tipoff between Alabama and St. John’s is set for 11 a.m. CT on Saturday morning.
