How to watch, listen to No. 9 Alabama vs. No. 3 Georgia in the SEC Championship
The SEC Championship is here, and it’s a familiar matchup once again as No. 9 Alabama will take on No. 3 Georgia for the conference title in Atlanta on Saturday. While both teams are currently projected in the 12-team College Football Playoff field, the winner of the game will officially receive the conference’s automatic bid into the playoff.
This is the second meeting this season between these two teams. They met back on Sept. 27 in Athens, a game Alabama won on the road 24-21. The Crimson Tide lost one more game after that contest to Oklahoma on Nov. 15, finishing the season with a 7-1 SEC record and earning the top seed in the championship game.
Georgia hasn’t lost since these teams first met, rattling off eight wins in a row over the past two months of play. The Bulldogs also finished with a 7-1 SEC record, 11-1 overall, making the conference title game after Texas A&M lost to Texas in the final week of the regular season.
Alabama is a perfect 4-0 in SEC championship games against Georgia in program history and 8-0 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is 1-7 against Alabama in his career, the lone win coming in the 2021 national championship. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is 2-0 against Georgia in his young tenure in Tuscaloosa.
