Jihaad Campbell update: Alabama LB ruled out for rest of ReliaQuest Bowl

TAMPA, Fla. – Alabama’s leading tackler Jihaad Campbell exited the ReliaQuest Bowl with an upper-extremity injury in the third quarter and has been ruled out for the rest of the game.
Campbell stayed down on one knee before walking off under his own power with members of Alabama’s training staff. He spent a long time in the sideline medical tent and emerged with a big ice pack on his left shoulder. The junior linebacker paced the Crimson Tide defense with 11 tackles before his exit. Campbell was replaced on the field by Jeremiah Alexander.

Campbell is one of Alabama’s top NFL draft prospects, and many believe Tuesday’s bowl game against the Michigan Wolverines will possibly be his final game in a crimson uniform.
Alabama entered the ReliaQuest Bowl already without starting linebacker Deontae Lawson, who suffered a season-ending injury in the Crimson Tide’s loss at Oklahoma in November.
