We don’t know when Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville defensive lineman Justice Finkley will commit, but we do know it’s come down to in-state Alabama, Texas and Colorado.

Finkley released his top three on July 4 but, as of now, the four-star defensive end has no timeline in mind for a decision.

The Alabama Crimson Tide were hoping to strengthen their case with the Champions Cookout this past Saturday but did it move Finkley any closer to a decision?

“Not really,” Finkley said. “It’s the same. It was honestly just a hangout with all the recruits and coaches.”

Justice Finkley eyeing official visit during senior year

Finkley, who is 6-foot-2 and 255 pounds, took his official visits to Texas and Colorado this summer, but his official to Alabama is still up in the air for the fall.

There’s one game, in particular, he doesn’t want to miss, it’s Oct. 9 versus the Aggies, but that game is in College Station, Texas.

“I’m trying to (schedule),” Finkley said. “Probably the Texas A&M game.”

Ranking No. 191 in the nation and No. 9 in the Yellowhammer State in the On300, Finkley is a must-get target for the Tide.

His recruitment is an all-hands-on-deck situation, but it was Thompson High four-star Bama commit Jeremiah Alexander leading the charge to get him on board Saturday.

“It was good (with the commits),” Finkley said. “I’m cool with a lot of them. Jeremiah Alexander (was recruiting hard).”

If Finkley were to commit and join Alexander, Alabama would be set on the exterior defensive line for 2022.
