Kalen DeBoer offers midweek updates on Jam Miller, Derek Meadows

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer offered midweek updates on two injured players.
Speaking on the SEC coaches teleconference, DeBoer was asked about the status of running back Jam Miller and wide receiver Derek Meadows, who both left last week’s game at Missouri with concussions. While they returned to the sideline, they did not return to the game.
“I expect Derek will be out,” DeBoer said. “And I think Jam’s in probably what we’d put in a questionable state for the weekend when it comes to the report tonight. That’s kind of where I see it right now.”
Miller is Alabama’s leading rusher, despite missing the first three games of the season. He dealt with a dislocated collarbone that he suffered in a preseason scrimmage. Since coming back, the senior has rushed for 267 yards and one touchdown on 58 attempts in three games. If Miller is unable to go, Alabama will turn to Kevin Riley and Daniel Hill at running back.

Meadows, a true freshman, has played in four games this season, with last week’s road game at Missouri being the fourth. The 6-foot-5 newcomer has yet to catch a pass in his first season.
The SEC will release its initial player availability report this evening at roughly 7:10 p.m. CT.
No. 6-ranked Alabama will welcome No. 11 Tennessee to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, October 18. The Third Saturday in October rivalry game is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. on ABC.
