Kalen DeBoer provides positive updates on Jam Miller, Tim Keenan

Alabama was without two experienced starters in its loss at Florida State on Saturday.
Running back Jam Miller suffered a dislocated collarbone in the Crimson Tide’s second and final preseason scrimmage, and while he made the trip to Tallahassee, Miller watched the 31-17 loss from the sideline at Doak Campbell Stadium. He was in street clothes for the first game.
Defensive tackle Tim Keenan sustained an ankle injury eight days ago in the lead-up to the FSU opener. Keenan didn’t travel with the team to the Week 1 matchup, but UA coach Kalen DeBoer told ESPN that he believes Keenan will be back in time for the Wisconsin home game.
Speaking on the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday, DeBoer shared positive updates on both veteran players, who were sorely missed in the disappointing loss to the Seminoles.
“Tim Keenan will not be available this week, but he’s doing really well and making the progress that we would expect,” DeBoer said. “This is not a long-term injury for him.”

As for Miller, he was initially expected to return for Alabama’s highly anticipated SEC opener at Georgia on September 26. But DeBoer isn’t ruling Miller out against Wisconsin next week.
“Jam is doing really well and will not be available this week, but coming along as good as you could expect it,” DeBoer said. “We knew there would be a possibility for next week, and that’s certainly still the case.”
Alabama (0-1) will look to bounce back when it welcomes the ULM Warhawks to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, September 6. The Crimson Tide will then face the Badgers at Bryant-Denny Stadium one week later as part of a home-and-home series that began last year in Madison.
And there’s a chance that Alabama could welcome back some much-needed reinforcements.
