Lotzeir Brooks injury update: Latest on sidelined Alabama freshman WR

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama freshman wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks has been sidelined for the past two days of preseason practice. Brooks was first spotted in a black, no-contact jersey and a walking boot on his left foot while riding on a stationary bike off to the side.
After Sunday morning’s practice, Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer was asked about Brooks.
“It won’t be anything long-term or anything like that,” DeBoer said of Brooks. “So, it’ll just be a little bit of recovery here. I don’t know if it’s day-to-day, but it’s not going to be something that’s extended.”

Brooks was one of three wideouts who joined Alabama’s receiving corps this offseason. The 5-foot-9, 191-pound freshman bolted up the recruiting rankings this past cycle, with On3 considering him the No. 73 and the No. 11 receiver in the 2025 class. The New Jersey native holds state records for career receiving yards (4,615) and receiving touchdowns (67).
Alabama will return to practice on Tuesday, August 5. The Crimson Tide will kick off its season against Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., on Saturday, August 30 (2:30 p.m. CT on ABC).
