BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Alabama defensive lineman LT Overton suffered an upper-body injury in the Crimson Tide’s 38-14 win over Wisconsin on Saturday and went to the locker room.

In the third quarter, Overton gingerly jogged to the sideline and was evaluated by trainers on the bench before entering the medical tent. Overton actually returned to the game on the next drive, but the senior defensive lineman was later spotted walking to Alabama’s locker room.

Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer offered a positive update on Overton on Monday.

“I’d expect him to play (at Georgia),” said DeBoer before speaking to the Monday Morning Quarterback Club.

Against Wisconsin, Overton recorded his first sack of the season. He started a trend, as the UA defense finished the 24-point win with four sacks, but Overton got things started. The 6-foot-5, 278-pound finished with three tackles and three total pressures, per Pro Football Focus.

In three games this year, Overton has recorded eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. Overton is in his second season with the Crimson Tide after transferring from Texas A&M.

Alabama is off this week and will next travel to play at Georgia on Saturday, September 27.
