Mark Sears named to Oscar Robertson Trophy, All-America watch list

Alabama men’s basketball guard Mark Sears was named to the 2024 Oscar Robertson Trophy and All-America Watch List, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) announced Tuesday. Sears is one of 40 players named to the list and one of four SEC players to be recognized.

  • A Naismith Player of the Year Midseason Watch List honoree
  • Ranks No. 1 in the SEC in scoring (20.4 ppg), No. 5 in field goal percentage (50.9) and No. 7 in assists (4.1 apg)
  • Sears is one of three Division I players and the only Power 5 player that has 550 points, 115 rebounds, 110 assists and 60 three-pointers this season
  • One of five players in Division I and the only guard that is scoring 20 points per game while averaging 50 percent from the field
  • Has recorded 20-points or more in 17 games this season and is the most since James “Hollywood” Robinson in 1992-93 (18 games)
  • Two-time SEC Player of the Week (Jan. 15 and Jan. 29)
