Midweek injury updates on Ryan Williams, Isaiah Horton, Jah-Marien Latham

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer provided injury updates on three players on Wednesday.
Star wide receiver Ryan Williams sustained a concussion late in the Week 1 loss at Florida State. Williams took a big hit from former Crimson Tide defensive back Earl Little Jr. and stayed on the turf after the play. After trainers attended to the sophomore, he got to his feet and walked to the visiting locker room under his own power. He didn’t return to the 31-17 loss.
Speaking on the SEC coaches teleconference, DeBoer shared the latest on Williams’ status.
“Ryan Williams is coming along, day to day,” DeBoer said. “He’s been on the practice field going through — he’s doing the normal protocol and coming along nicely. That’s probably the best way to explain it.”
Both Jah-Marien Latham and Isaiah Horton suffered lower-body injuries against Florida State.
Latham started the Week 1 loss at the Wolf linebacker position, while Horton was on the field at receiver for the first offensive snap of the 2025 season. Both players spent time in the injury tent during the 31-17 loss. Horton was able to return to the game, but Latham was not.

DeBoer offered positive updates on both Alabama starters on Wednesday’s teleconference.
“Jah-Marien Latham is actually doing better,” DeBoer said. “Just the word I got here, doing better than we expected. Unsure yet what that looks like for this weekend.
“Isaiah is looking great,” DeBoer said. “Isaiah is doing a great job. He was extremely sore and really did a nice job turning the corner here over the last 24 hours. So, assuming there’s no setbacks, I expect him to be at a pretty high level on Saturday.”
Alabama’s home game against ULM is set for Saturday, Sept. 6 (6:45 p.m. on SEC Network).
