Alabama head coach Nate Oats offered updates on two Crimson Tide basketball players on the eve of the team’s first-round NCAA Tournament matchup with Charleston in Spokane.

Senior forward Nick Pringle did not make the initial flight to the Pacific Northwest but made it to Spokane on Thursday. Oats provided the latest on Pringle, including his availability.

“Nick’s available to play tomorrow,” Oats said. “Nick’s with the team. He was dealing with a personal issue, and he’s here with us now, and should be good to go tomorrow.”

Pringle played in 29 games and made 13 starts but missed three contests due to two separate suspensions this season. The senior averages 6.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, but he’s scored in double figures in each of the last five games, including two double-doubles.

Meanwhile, redshirt freshman guard Davin Cosby was seen in a walking boot at the Crimson Tide’s practice in Spokane on Thursday. Cosby has played in 22 of Alabama’s 32 games but has not played more than 10 minutes since his 5-for-10 performance against Ole Miss.

The Alabama guard will not be available for the first-round matchup with the Cougars.

“Davin broke his foot in practice earlier this week, so he’s out,” Oats said. “We’re not a hundred percent fully healthy. That’s the one injury, and it was unfortunate. I think he stepped on somebody’s foot. He continued to practice, but then when we got it X-rayed after practice, it’s got a break in one of the bones, so he is out.”

Alabama will face Charleston on Friday, March 22, at 6:35 p.m. CT on truTV. Lisa Byington, Steve Smith, Robbie Hummel and Lauren Shehadi will be on the call from Spokane.
