TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama basketball has been without Tarleton State transfer forward Keitenn Bristow for the first three games of the season. During his Tuesday press conference previewing this week’s matchup with No. 8 Illinois, Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats gave an update on the injured forward.

“Keitenn Bristow’s practiced in a limited capacity the last three days, gradually gotten a little better,” head coach Nate Oats said. “He’ll be a game time decision. He’s at least back in the mix and doing some stuff in practice.”

Bristow was the WAC Freshman of the Year at Tarleton State last season and transferred in to Tuscaloosa with three years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-10 forward is tough on the glass, an area Alabama needs to show improvement in after getting outrebounded by 24 in the loss to now-No. 1 Purdue last Thursday.

Alabama fans got a glimpse at what Bristow could provide during the team’s two exhibition games, both of which he participated in before hurting his ankle ahead of the season-opener.

He had 13 points and six rebounds in the exhibition vs. Florida State, and had two points and three rebounds in the road exhibition at Furman.

No. 11 Alabama’s matchup with No. 8 Illinois will tip off at 8 p.m. CT on Wednesday night. The game will be played at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
