Qua Russaw update: Alabama LB undergoing surgery for foot injury

Alabama linebacker Qua Russaw suffered a foot injury in the Crimson Tide’s 24-21 win over Georgia on Saturday in Athens, sources confirmed to BamaOnLine. Russaw left the game in the first half and was ruled out for the remainder of the road contest. As the team left the field at Sanford Stadium, he was spotted in a walking boot and moving around on crutches.
CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported Russaw is undergoing surgery on Sunday to repair the injury and is expected to miss some time. A timetable for his return has not yet been announced.
Russaw started the game at Georgia at the Wolf linebacker position, but he only logged eight snaps before leaving the field. With Russaw not on the field and Jah-Marien Latham (neck) not making the trip, Alabama turned to Yhonzae Pierre and true freshman Justin Hill at the edge-rushing position. There are only three healthy Wolf linebackers left on the Tide’s roster.
Alabama will next play host to Vanderbilt on Saturday, October 4, at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
