SEC Media Days Recap: Discussing top Alabama storylines from Atlanta

SEC Media Days have come and gone, with Alabama taking its turn at the Omni Atlanta Hotel and the College Football Hall of Fame on July 16. Representing the Crimson Tide at the 2025 media event were Kalen DeBoer, Tim Keenan, Deontae Lawson and Kadyn Proctor.
The Alabama contingent discussed a variety of topics, but some of the more noteworthy talking points were made earlier in the week, like former Tide quarterback Greg McElroy mentioning a possible return to the field for coach Nick Saban, who retired a year and a half ago.
But what’s SEC Media Days without a little drama, right?
To discuss that and more are BamaOnLine writers Charlie Potter and Blake Byler, who were in Atlanta for the Crimson Tide’s journey through the media gauntlet. They share what they heard in interviews, as well as how the collective media voted in the annual preseason poll.
The Alabama-related topics discussed by the guys include:
– Rumor of Nick Saban returning to coaching
– Kadyn Proctor talks weight, offensive line unit
– Deontae Lawson provided health update
– Players react to Florida State QB trash talk
– No news on the Alabama quarterback battle
– Specialists remain a big Tide question mark
– Thoughts on All-SEC teams, predicted order of finish
