Second-year WR Aeryn Hampton no longer with Alabama team, DeBoer says

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Aeryn “Bubba” Hampton is no longer with the Alabama football team, head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed on the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday.
Hampton has been removed from the team’s online roster.
“Bubba has not been with us for quite a while,” DeBoer said. “Going into early fall camp.”
Hampton was a 4-star recruit in the Crimson Tide’s 2024 recruiting class from Daingerfield, Texas, ranked as the No. 251 overall player and the No. 10 athlete in the cycle. The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder redshirted last season as a true freshman, appearing in games against Western Kentucky, Wisconsin and Mercer, logging on catch for six yards.

He’d yet to appear in a game through the 2025 season, and did not travel with the team to its Week 1 game against Florida State.
Alabama has nine wide receivers on its roster remaining without Hampton: senior Germie Bernard, junior Isaiah Horton, redshirt sophomores Cole Adams and Jalen Hale, sophomores Ryan Williams and Jaylen Mbakwe, redshirt freshman Rico Scott and true freshmen Lotzeir Brooks and Derek Meadows.
Hampton’s departure drops Alabama’s scholarship roster total to 84 players.
