Alabama basketball competed in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas last week, going 2-1 in three games played in three days from Monday to Wednesday. The Crimson Tide fell 95-85 to Gonzaga on Monday, beat UNLV 115-76 on Tuesday, and closed its time out west with a 105-72 win over Maryland on Wednesday.

In Monday’s updated AP Poll, Alabama dropped four spots to No. 12 after being ranked No. 8 last week.

The Tide is the highest-ranked of seven SEC teams in the poll this week, as the league looks to have taken a step back after its historic season last year. Other ranked SEC teams include No. 13 Tennessee, No. 15 Florida, No. 17 Vanderbilt, No. 18 Kentucky, No. 20 Auburn and No. 25 Arkansas.

Next up for Alabama is the SEC/ACC Challenge this week, where it will host Clemson on Wednesday inside Coleman Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6:15 p.m. CT and will air on ESPNU.
