Where Alabama lands in latest polls ahead of NCAA Tournament
Not only has the regular season come and gone for college basketball, but now we’ve seen conference tournaments take place. The only thing left for Alabama and 67 other teams is to figure out how far they’re going to make it in the looming NCAA Tournament, which is set to begin on Tuesday with the First Four.
Before March Madness officially gets underway though, we got an update of the latest AP and Coaches Polls last week’s results. And yes, Alabama (21-11, 13-5 SEC) lost to Florida 102-88 in the SEC Tournament on Friday, but the Crimson Tide managed to stay at No. 19 in the latest AP while climbing a spot in the Coaches (from No. 19 to No. 18).
At this point, everyone knows that these polls don’t mean a lot. During Selection Sunday, Alabama was awarded a No. 4 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament and will take on a No. 13-seed Charleston on Friday, March 22 in Spokane, Wash. Tipoff for the game is set for 6:35 CT (7:35 ET), and it will air on TruTV.
