Where Alabama is ranked in the polls after loss to Florida State

Alabama suffered a disappointing loss in Week 1 of the 2025 season over the weekend, going on the road and losing to Florida State, 31-17. The loss starts the Crimson Tide’s second year under head coach Kalen DeBoer on the wrong foot, as the team is now 0-1 and has serious ground to make up to try to get into the College Football Playoff conversation.

After being ranked No. 8 in both the preseason Coaches Poll and AP Poll, Alabama dropped significantly in Week 2 to No. 20 by the Coaches and No. 21 by the AP.

Alabama is one of 10 SEC teams ranked in this week’s poll, coming in behind AP No. 3 LSU, No. 4 Georgia, No. 7 Texas, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 13 Florida No. 18 Oklahoma, No. 19 Texas A&M and No. 20 Ole Miss while ahead of No. 22 Tennessee.

Florida State cracked the top 25 at No. 14, making the Tide’s loss now at the hands of a ranked opponent. There are five more ranked teams on Alabama’s schedule in Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Alabama will look to get in the win column for the first time this season on Saturday at home against Louisiana-Monroe (6:45 p.m. CT, SEC Network).
