Auburn football series history: Baylor

It’s been 49 years since Auburn and Baylor last met on the football field.
Friday night marks the end of that drought, as the two programs go head-to-head to open up their seasons.
This will be the fifth ever matchup between Auburn and Baylor, and only the second time the two have ever played in Waco. Baylor leads the overall series 2-1-1.
First meeting: 1954 Gator Bowl
The two programs first met in 1954, playing each other in that season’s Gator Bowl. Both programs had gone 7-3 in the regular season, with Auburn finishing the regular season on a six-game win streak.
The Tigers’ win streak extended to seven games with a 33-13 victory over the Bears. It remains the only victory for Auburn in the series.
